Principal Dentist – Dr. Sonny Lee
Dr. Sonny Lee is on a mission challenging the status quo in dentistry. He is building a world class practice in Perth to help change the way we see the relationship between oral health, holistic health, and dental aesthetics for our personal benefit. His team is committed to helping families in his local community smile confidently and is dedicated to serve and help improve his patients smile – from the inside out.
Aesthetic dentistry in practice – is an approach that focuses on better oral health for a more natural looking smile. Community & charity work – Additionally he donates his whole clinic on a monthly basis to the TIMA charity to help the homeless, refugees and domestic violence victims and has worked with TIMA, Red Cross and many homeless shelters in Perth since 2014 and is involved with CHAT based in Vietnam and CHIARA in Myanmar for the past 8 years.
Family medical background – Dr. Sonny Lee is part of a medical family with a wealth of experience spanning two generations. His father is an eye surgeon, his mother is a dental specialist, and his brother and wife are both dentists. His family has a long standing history and commitment to medical service for the community.
Dr. Sonny Lee and Dr. Elmer Lee are brothers who share a love for dentistry. Leeming Dental and Dental Paradiso are both operated by the brothers, where excellent services are provided. Dental Paradiso at Osborne Park.

Dentist Sashika Fernando
Dr. Sashika Fernando’s goal is to help people achieve a beautiful smile and her main aim is to minimize dental problems in the future by working with and educating her patients she provides a preventative treatment approach to dental care with a holistic approach. She is especially passionate about discussing diet and lifestyle habits and their influence on the oral environment and also enjoys meeting and treating patients that are anxious, providing them with experiences that help change their mind about dentistry.

Education and training achievements – Graduating from the University of WA with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2011 Sashika has undergone further study with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, completing her primary examinations in 2014 and enjoys keeping up with the newest technologies in dentistry. She has also completed courses in Facial Injectables and CEREC technology and is currently completing a post-graduate degree with the University of Portsmouth on Aesthetic Dentistry. She holds a membership with the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and the Australian Dental Association of Western Australia (ADAWA).
Additionally to Leeming Dental Sashika also works part-time at Swan Districts Dental Clinic, a government dental clinic situated in Middle Swan. Sash grew up and went to school in the Swan Valley and is happy to give back to her community by improving their oral health. She relocated with her family to Perth, WA from Sri Lanka as a child growing up in the Hills and attending Governor Stirling Senior High School and has become the longest standing member with us.
Leisure time activities – Dr. Sashika Fernando’s passion is dentistry but Sash loves to dance. When she isn’t burning up the dance floor, she enjoys reading spiritual books, hanging out with her family, long walks in nature and going to the beach. She also loves eating delicious food with her fiancé, especially the food he cooks!

Dentist Michael Yuan
Dr. Michael Yuan focuses on a preventative approach and aims to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible. Not only does this help create a better aesthetic result but can also aid in the longevity of your oral health and function. Additionally he greatly values the importance of communication and comprehensive patient-centred care. He is especially keen in staying updated on the latest innovations, such as digital dentistry and 3D printing.

Education and training – Dr Michael Yuan holds a professional membership with the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and the Australian Dental Association of Western Australia (ADAWA). He maintains a practicing registration with the Australian Health and Practitioners Regulatory Agency (AHPRA). He studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for his Bachelor of Science, before finally settling on Perth in 2013 to obtain his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Western Australia.
He was born in Taiwan and for as long as he could remember, grew up around dentistry since his mother is also a dentist. At a young age he moved to New Zealand where he spent his childhood. Later on after graduation, Dr Mike went into private practice serving the South West community. Striving to work together with patients to achieve the best possible outcome he is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
Sports and activities – When he is not working, you can find Dr Mike going on hikes and listening to his favourite podcasts, playing pick-up basketball, or just having a hit at the golf driving range. Dr Mike is an avid fan of American sports, especially the NBA, and always enjoys some good sports banter! Even though he has been in Australia for almost 10 years, he is still slowly coming around to understanding Footy.

Dentist Willis Cheng

Qualifications and Education
Dr. Willis Cheng received his post-graduate Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Western Australia. He is registered with the AHPRA Dental Board and is a member of the Australian Dental Association. Dr. Willis Cheng is an accredited Invisalign provider. He has been honoured with the prestigious Australian Society of Endodontology (WA Branch) Prize in Endodontics and Dental Traumatology. He is also a member of the Australian Society of Endodontology (WA Branch) and International Team for Implantology.
Dr. Willis Cheng is currently pursuing Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Aesthetics and Restorative Dentistry through Portsmouth University and a Post-Graduate diploma in Dental Implantology through The Cambridge Academy of Dental Implantology.

Willis loves long nature walks, swimming, and basketball. In his free time, you can find him in Kings Park, at the beach or at the basketball court. Willis is fluent in English, Mandarin and Hokkien making him an excellent communicator.

Dentist Justina Teo
Dr. Justina Teo doesn’t think there are many individuals who genuinely enjoy visits to the dentist, but at Leeming Dental, helping people overcome their fears and getting ahead in life through a fabulous smile is what the team love doing. Always looking forward to meeting you to begin a journey with all the wonderful individuals who are transformed for the better, not only with their teeth, but in a way that positive impact manifests in all other aspects of their lives.
Expertise in dental implants – She graduated with honours locally and has been accepted as a fellow member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS). We have her in the team for her expertise in implant surgeries. Being part of this team that goes above and beyond to deliver a different experience to people is what it’s all about for Dr. Justina.
Being of true service to others she values highly and believes that joy and happiness will always be a by-product of these actions. Leeming Dental has always been a pioneer in the dental field and she has been with us through the years and growth at the forefront of the latest advancements in dentistry.

Ariel – Practice Manager
Ariel has been with us since 2015. Her professionalism, competency, dedication, diligence, patience and many other positive attributes have been invaluable to our patients, our team and the practice. She is self-motivated and always ready to learn and in turn, give.
Ariel attained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from University of Bradford (2012) and a Diploma in Dental Technology (2015). Years of service at National University Hospital of Singapore has equipped her with valuable administrative knowledge and patient relationship skills in a healthcare setting, which she has been delivering here at Leeming Dental.
She is a very devoted mum to her teenage daughter, likes K-pop and K-dramas and can converse in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Liza Lai – Oral Health Therapist/ Prevention
At Leeming Dental, Liza undertakes oral biofilm testing to look for the presence of harmful bacteria in the mouth that can cause periodontal disease. She works together with our patients to determine an oral hygiene plan in order to prevent these bacteria from causing disease in the future.

Qualifications and background – Liza Lai graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Otago NZ in 2019. She has previously worked in the public health sector in New Zealand treating children and has experience in providing oral hygiene services in a hospital setting. She believes, no children and adults should suffer from decay and gum disease. They are completely preventable and is on a mission to ensure her patients know.
Oral hygiene care – The bacteria in our mouth can also contribute to many systemic health issues including heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, poor nutrition, pregnancy complications and stroke. By testing the bacteria in the mouth, we are able to identify risk factors for these diseases early on and help to prevent them. Liza uses Guided Biofilm Therapy for your routine dental care appointment.
Liza enjoys working with patients to help them achieve and maintain ideal oral health and general wellness. She always aims to leave patients with a positive and happy experience. Outside of work, she enjoys going on walks and hikes, exploring her artistic flair in pottery and reading.

Fatimah – Oral Health Therapist / Prevention
Fatimah is our oral Health Therapist from Curtin University
Always bringing smiles and laughter to amplify the liveliness of the team, Fatimah is a joy to have in the team. You will see Fatimah on Saturdays and occasional weekdays helping out with chairside dental nursing with our dentists.

Josephine – Receptionist
Josephine is our lovely receptionist who can speak Mandarin and Cantonese. She is very detailed in her work and always ready to help.
The field of customer service is very relatable to Josephine as she was an ex-aircrew member with Singapore Airlines.
She sees kindness in everyone and believes that positive mindset brings out the best in people. Her teenage son is a very talented tennis player.

Anita – Receptionist
Anita has worked in the Dental industry as a dental assistant and receptionist for almost 20 years, predominantly in Paediatrics.
She loves working with children and enjoys building relationships with patients and loves to chat at the front desk.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her son and baking cookies.

Brianna – Receptionist
Brianna although we call her Bri is one of our lovely front desk girls at Leeming Dental.
She joined the team in 2021 and has thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of learning a whole new profession after being a Barista and slinging beers for the best part of the last 5 years.
She finds Dentistry a fascinating aspect of the human make up and loves learning more and more each day.

Ruth – Dental Assistant
We’ve had Ruth in the team since 2020 and she has been very dedicated in her role. She has 25 years practicing as a dentist in the Philippines before relocating to Perth and has kept herself in the field for the past 9 years as a dental nurse.
She brings a very caring and gentle nature to everyone around her. In her spare time, Ruth spends it with her family and her puppy.

Marnie – Dental Assistant
Marnie has her Certificate III in Dental Assisting and is currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science at ECU. Joining the team in 2019, Marnie has a passion for oral health and nutrition promoting systemic health through maintaining excellent oral hygiene.
She is a local in Leeming and our patients and we love her pleasant demeanour. She can be seen either receiving patients at the front desk or helping out in the treatment rooms.

Kai – Dental Assistant
Kai has shown great interest in digital smile design and has been working with our dentists in creating the best smiles for our patients. He carries a very positive attitude and joined us in 2018.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from UWA in 2017. Extremely qualified, he helps in many areas such as technical support of our equipment, sterilisation of instruments and you may also see him assisting during your dental appointments
Outside of work, he volunteers for the Tzu Chi Foundation which helps to bring dental care to those who are unable to access it plus Kai simply loves cookies!
